Senior Commercial Analyst

At Lion, we're looking for a commercially minded Senior Commercial Analyst to partner closely with our Sales teams to drive profitable growth, improve customer performance, and influence better business decisions.

This is not a traditional reporting role. You will partner closely with Sales leaders, providing commercial insights, financial analysis, and recommendations that support customer strategies and drive profitable growth.

Success in this role is measured by the quality of insights, recommendations, and commercial outcomes you help deliver.

The Role

• Partner with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders to identify growth opportunities, improve profitability, and support commercial decision-making


• Translate complex financial and commercial data into clear insights, actions, and decisions for stakeholders at all levels


• Develop data-driven recommendations that influence commercial decisions and improve customer and portfolio performance


• Partner with Sales teams to optimise customer profitability, evaluate trade investment effectiveness, and support joint business planning activities


• Evaluate customer investments and strategic initiatives through financial modelling and scenario analysis


• Translate performance results into commercial actions by identifying underlying drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended interventions


• Support decision-making through robust analysis, clear recommendations, and compelling communication of insights


• Lead forecasting, planning, and performance management activities, identifying risks and opportunities to improve customer and portfolio performance


• Continuously improve reporting, planning, and insight-generation processes through automation and innovation


• Leverage analytics, automation, AI-enabled tools, and multiple data sources to generate insights and improve decision-making

About You
You are a commercially curious analyst who enjoys understanding what drives business performance and using data to influence decisions. You are equally comfortable analysing complex information, challenging conventional thinking, and translating insights into practical actions that deliver results.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years' experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, Revenue Growth Management, or Finance Business Partnering roles.


• CA or CPA qualified


• Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline


• Strong commercial acumen with a deep interest in understanding customers, markets, and growth drivers


• Naturally curious and proactive, with a desire to uncover insights and challenge conventional thinking


• Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to provide recommendations and constructively challenge thinking


• Ability to balance analytical rigour with practical business recommendations


• Demonstrated ability to leverage technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve insight generation and business outcomes


• Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into compelling business narratives


• Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualisation and analytics tools
