Our family of brands turns the IAG purpose of making your world a safer place into action by helping everyday Aussies and New Zealanders, supporting their ambitions and making insurance accessible.

This role sits within the BAU Production Support team, responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of the production environment.

As a Senior Guidewire Developer, you’ll bring senior‑level expertise across analysis, design, development and implementation activities, while mentoring and coaching emerging developers. In this hands‑on role, you’ll contribute to the design and enhancement of Guidewire platforms, promote clean, maintainable and extensible code, and support agile delivery with a strong focus on innovation and customer outcomes.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Meanjin (Brisbane).

What You'll Do

  • Production stability & operational leadership: Own the stability and performance of Guidewire platforms, leading incident response, driving root cause analysis, and implementing long-term fixes to improve system resilience and minimise repeat issues.

  • Advanced configuration & solution stewardship: Lead the management and optimisation of Guidewire configurations (business rules, integrations, APIs, environments), ensuring scalable, maintainable solutions aligned to enterprise standards.

  • Continuous improvement & engineering excellence: Identify systemic issues and proactively drive improvements, including automation, performance tuning and simplification of support processes to enhance platform efficiency and reduce operational overhead.

  • Technical leadership & stakeholder influence: Partner with business and technology stakeholders to shape solutions, challenge requirements where needed, and provide strategic guidance that balances risk, cost and customer outcomes.

  • Agile delivery & team uplift: Champion agile and DevOps practices within support and operations, mentor engineers, uplift team capability, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous learning.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience with Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter or ClaimCenter) in a production support / operations environment

  • Strong expertise in incident management, root cause analysis and production troubleshooting at scale

  • Deep hands-on experience in Guidewire configuration, integrations and application support architecture

  • Proven ability to drive automation, operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile and DevOps practices, with experience operating in continuous delivery environments

  • Ability to lead technically, influence stakeholders and make pragmatic decisions in complex, high-pressure situations

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge business and technology conversations

  • A proactive, improvement-driven mindset with a passion for mentoring, coaching and building high-performing teams

What We Offer

  • Boosted superannuation with 13% as standard.

  • 20 days annual leave + 5 days MyLeave (extra leave for what’s important to you).

  • Work from home and many more flexibility options with myFlex.

  • Up to 50% off personal insurance, including home and motor insurance.

  • Partner discounts on private health insurance, tech & appliances, and many more.

  • Industry-leading 20 weeks paid parental leave.

  • Access to LinkedIn Learning, the award-winning IAG Academy, study assistance and secondment opportunities.
