Key Responsibility Areas
- The key responsibility areas (KRAs) are the major outputs for which the position is responsible and are not a comprehensive statement of the position activities.
- Maintain the laboratories in an efficient and well-organised manner
- Order and maintain consumable supplies for the laboratories, as required
- Receive goods, reagents: review and complete relevant documentation and store correctly, as required
- Assist with the coordination of reagent and goods shipments, as required
- Ensure laboratory equipment is cleaned, maintained and calibrated, as required according to relevant SOPs and maintenance schedules
- Respond and investigate Temperature Monitoring Alarms in a timely manner, as required.
- Maintain, schedule and update equipment service and calibration records in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Assist with the procurement of laboratory equipment
- Involvement in out-of-tolerances, deviations and CAPA processes
- Provide and support process improvements
- Contribute to risk assessments related to equipment, inventory and processes
- Support the end-to-end process of the In-house Pipette Verification and Calibration Project
- Perform routine checks, cleaning, and maintenance on pipette verification equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Accurately log calibration results in LIMS or designated system, and prepare reports for review and audit purposes
- Ensure all pipette verification activities meet NATA and internal quality management requirements. Monitor and replenish consumables required for verification activities to avoid delays
- Contribute to drafting and updating SOPs and work instructions related to pipette verification and calibration
- Identify potential issues during verification, conduct basic troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues
- Provide regular updates to Lab Support Manager, highlighting risks, delays, or resourcing needs
- Training staff members in Laboratory Support, as required
- Participate in internal and external audits, as required
- Prepare, maintain and review policies, SOPs, systems and procedures to assure the quality and integrity of service offerings at 360biolabs
- Maintain records (LIMS, database and paper) to levels consistent with relevant standards and industry expectations
- Adhere to ISO/IEC 17025, OECD Principles of GLP, GCLP Principles, 360biolabs’ Quality Management System, and other requirements as per NATA Accreditation and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure the safe and efficient conduct of laboratory activities
- Ensure compliance to relevant internal processes and statutory requirements
- Collaborate well in a cross-functional matrix environment; maintain high levels of communication with colleagues and productive relationships with service providers and other partners
- Mentoring and providing day-to-day guidance to junior lab assistants
- Work closely with Quality, Information Systems and Scientific Operations team resources to facilitate the Equipment Management process
- Attend meetings and training associated with the work of 360biolabs.
Key Selection Criteria
- Tertiary education in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience (Essential)
Experience / Knowledge / Attributes
- Experience working in a quality-controlled environment preferably an accredited facility following ISO/IEC 17025, GLP, or similar quality systems (Essential)
- Experience working in a quality-controlled environment preferably an accredited facility following ISO8655 or similar standards (Essential)
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills (Essential)
- Ability to work as part of a team (Essential)
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn (Essential)
- Experience in handling clinical samples etc. (Essential)
- Experience with use of a Lab Information Management System (LIMS) (Desirable)
- High motivation and enthusiasm for biomedical research(Desirable)
