Senior Legal Counsel - IT (Fixed Term)

What you’ll do
•    Provide senior legal advice on IT and general commercial matters across all Metcash pillars and corporate functions
•    Support the development, procurement, use and commercialisation of technology, including cloud, shared platforms and multi tenancy solutions
•    Identify and help manage legal, compliance and regulatory risks associated with IT law
•    Partner with stakeholders to deliver commercially pragmatic, risk balanced legal advice
•    Manage external legal advisors and drive efficient, high quality outcomes
•    Stay across developments in IT law and contribute to internal legal updates and guidance 

What you’ll bring
•    LLB (or equivalent) with a current NSW practising certificate
•    8+ years’ PQE in private practice and/or in house roles
•    Strong IT, commercial contract and transactional legal expertise
•    Solid understanding of the Australian IT legal and regulatory landscape
•    A commercially minded approach with sound judgment and problem solving capability
•    Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to influence at a senior level
