Your key responsibilities

As our State Taxes Manager/Senior Manager or Director, you'll join a high-performing team, provide trusted advisory services to leading financial services organisations, and work directly with clients to navigate complex tax challenges, unlock value, and drive sustainable business outcomes.

• Manage and grow a portfolio of financial services clients, advising on State Taxes issues predominantly in transactions.


• Partner with clients to identify and resolve complex State Tax issues while delivering practical, commercially focused solutions.


• Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand service offerings and develop innovative solutions that deliver measurable value.


• Lead, coach and develop talented indirect tax professionals, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture.


• Contribute to the growth of the practice through business development, thought leadership, market engagement, and leveraging existing networks to create new opportunities.

Skills and attributes for success

• Substantial experience in stamp duty gained within a professional services accounting firm, law firm or revenue authority. Experience in land tax is welcomed but not compulsory.


• Strong technical stamp duty expertise, with the ability to translate complex legislative and regulatory requirements into practical, commercial advice for clients.


• Strong leadership capability, with a track record of driving market-facing initiatives, leading complex client engagements and building high-performing teams.


• A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement and leveraging technology to deliver better client outcomes.
