Retail Banking Services is the public face of CommBank, serving over 10 million personal and small business customers. Within RBS, the Everyday Products Crew owns the products customers use every day, with a focus on sustainable growth and strong customer experiences.

This role sits within the Everyday Spending value stream, where debit cards and retail payments are core to how customers interact with the bank.

About the role

This is a senior product role responsible for debit card products, working directly with domestic and international payment schemes including Mastercard, eftpos and AP+. You will lead scheme-led discovery, shape product strategy and roadmaps, and ensure compliance with scheme mandates, regulatory requirements and internal governance.

You will operate across product, technology, risk and operations, applying deep end-to-end transaction knowledge to deliver outcomes in a complex, highly regulated environment.

What you'll do

• Own scheme-led product discovery across debit cards and everyday payments
• Lead strategic engagement with payment schemes on mandates, features, roadmaps and compliance
• Interpret and implement scheme rule and regulatory changes across products and processes
• Represent CommBank in industry forums, working groups and regulatory consultations
• Lead responses to industry initiatives, scheme reviews and regulatory change
• Apply deep end-to-end card transaction expertise to strategic product decisions
• Partner with Risk, Compliance and Legal to maintain strong governance, policy and control frameworks
• Oversee delivery across BAU, regulatory change and strategic transformation initiatives
• Influence senior stakeholders and coordinate across multiple internal teams using data-driven metrics to drive continuous improvement

What you'll bring

• Experience in cards and retail payments is essential
• Proven product management experience within payments, cards or transaction banking
• Direct experience working with payment schemes such as Mastercard, eftpos and AP+
• Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance and governance impacts across payments
• Ability to operate across technical detail and enterprise-level strategy
• Commercial mindset with a strong focus on customer outcomes
• Clear, confident communication and leadership capability

This role is suited to Senior Product Managers with deep payments experience, or Product Managers stepping up only where they have strong, end-to-end cards experience.
