About the role


As a Senior Psychosocial and Discharge Coordinator (Grade 4), you will provide senior Occupational Therapy leadership within the McKellar Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support the delivery of high-quality, recovery-focused care for consumers with complex mental health and psychosocial needs.


You will play a key role in coordinating allied health services, therapeutic psychosocial programs and discharge planning, while providing clinical supervision and support to junior allied health clinicians.


 


Key responsibilities



  • Provide advanced Occupational Therapy assessment and evidence-based interventions for consumers with complex mental health needs

  • Coordinate allied health coverage and therapeutic psychosocial programs across the service

  • Lead and support comprehensive, consumer-centred discharge planning and community linkages

  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance and professional support to Grade 2 and graduate allied health clinicians

  • Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance, audits and service development initiatives


 


What we're looking for



  • A qualified Occupational Therapist with current AHPRA registration and relevant clinical experience

  • Advanced clinical skills and experience working with people experiencing acute mental health and substance use disorders

  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision to allied health staff

  • Experience facilitating psychosocial groups and delivering recovery-focused, evidence-based interventions

  • Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills, with a commitment to consumer and family-inclusive care
