Senior Solicitor / Inhouse Legal

Senior Solicitor wanted for an in-house insurance legal role to lead a team.We are working with a well-regarded insurance organisation seeking a Senior Solicitor to lead and mentor a claims-focused legal team in an in-house environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PI / Insurance lawyer who enjoys combining technical excellence, people leadership, and strategic input-without the pressures of private practice.
This role genuinely supports flexible and reduced hours, making it well suited for senior lawyers seeking balance alongside continued career progression.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will:

• Lead, coach, and support a team of solicitors managing insurance claims
• Provide high-level legal advice across personal injury and insurance matters
• Oversee complex and high-value claims from early strategy through to resolution
• Work closely with claims teams and internal stakeholders to deliver commercial, timely outcomes
• Drive continuous improvement in claims handling, risk management, and litigation strategy
• Contribute to broader legal and business initiatives within the organisation

About You
You will likely bring:

• Admission as an Australian legal practitioner
• Strong background in personal injury and/or insurance law (plaintiff or defendant)
• Experience leading or supervising lawyers, or clear readiness to step into a leadership role
• Excellent judgement, communication skills, and a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset
• A genuine interest in mentoring others and building a nonperforming, supportive team
