About the role
We are looking for a Grade 3 Senior Speech Pathologist to join the Speech Pathology & Acute Medicine / Allied Health teams at Eastern Health. The successful applicants will provide daily leadership to the Speech Pathology team Angliss Hospital, as well as delivering clinical care primarily to the medical wards and ICU, but will capably flex across the hospital as indicated. You require expertise in assessment, rehabilitation & complex discharge planning in the acute hospital environment, as well as in the provision of effective clinical supervision and leading quality improvements within your work teams.
Leadership and highly developed problem solving & communication skills are essential as this role will be an active contributor to the Medicine and Critical Care teams and Allied Health leadership teams to work collaboratively to improve patient and team outcomes at this level. To support you to be your best in this role, Eastern Health offers monthly clinical supervision and access to research, quality improvement and leadership training opportunities.

To be successful in this role you should possess:
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
