Your opportunity
Mott MacDonald is growing, and we’re looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor to help deliver the talent behind major engineering, infrastructure and project delivery across Australia. This role will suit an experienced in-house recruiter who understands complex technical hiring, can partner confidently with senior stakeholders, and knows how to engage specialist engineering talent in a competitive market. Sydney is our preferred location; however, we are also open to candidates based in Brisbane or Adelaide.
About the role
As a Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor, you will lead end-to-end recruitment across a diverse engineering portfolio, with a strong focus on proactive sourcing, market mapping and stakeholder partnership. You’ll support business growth by building talent pipelines, advising leaders on market conditions, and delivering high-quality hires across critical and hard-to-fill roles.
What you’ll be doing
No two days will be the same, but here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be responsible for:
- Deliver end-to-end recruitment across a complex engineering portfolio, partnering closely with hiring managers to progress roles and secure strong hiring outcomes
- Lead proactive sourcing strategies for specialist and hard-to-fill engineering roles, using LinkedIn, market mapping and targeted engagement to identify and convert talent
- Provide practical market insight and recruitment advice to senior stakeholders, helping shape hiring strategy and informed decision making
- Build and maintain talent pipelines across priority skill areas, including Defence, Rail systems, transport and buildings infrastructure capability in the engineering consultancy market.
- Create a positive and professional candidate experience through clear, responsive and transparent communication
- Collaborate with HR colleagues across mobility, advisory and talent development to support a smooth candidate-to-employee journey
- Contribute to recruitment projects that improve process, tools, employer brand and inclusive hiring practice
What you’ll bring
- Significant in-house talent acquisition experience, ideally gained in engineering, infrastructure, professional services or another complex technical environment
- A strong understanding of engineering recruitment, with experience engaging specialist technical talent across competitive markets
- Experience recruiting for defence, systems engineering or adjacent technical capability would be highly regarded
- Advanced sourcing capability, including LinkedIn Recruiter, market mapping and direct approach strategies for critical and hard-to-fill roles
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge and guide hiring managers through the recruitment process
- A delivery-focused mindset, with the ability to prioritise, adapt quickly and progress hiring activity at pace
