From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.

Why this role matters

The Salvation Army delivers specialist family violence services that support women and children experiencing or escaping family violence. Our programs provide safety, recovery pathways, case management, outreach, and integrated partnerships with Child Protection and community agencies. About the role

As a Family Violence Team Leader, this is your opportunity to provide operational leadership across family violence programs, including rapid response, brief intervention, case management, outreach, Flexible Support Packages (FSP), Strength2Strength (S2S), and Child Protection partnership initiatives.

Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted until June 2027, (0.8FTE part-time position negotiable), based in Windsor, Victoria.

Conditions

Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 7.

How you will make an impact

  • Oversee day-to-day family violence service delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and best practice interventions.
  • Provide professional leadership, supervision, and coaching to practitioners, fostering capability and reflective practice.
  • Manage program operations, including reporting, budgets, brokerage, risk management, and accreditation requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with government, community agencies, and sector stakeholders.
  • Lead continuous improvement, using data, evaluation, and feedback to strengthen service outcomes.

What you will bring

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in family violence service delivery, including case management and outreach.
  • Strong skills in leadership, supervision, and operational management
  • Well-developed liaison, negotiation, and communication skills across service sectors.
  • Experience working with trauma, complex needs, and high-risk client presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems.
  • A current Employee Working with Children Check
  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.

What we offer

The Salvos offer eligible employees a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including:

  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax-free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
  • Generous paid parental leave and purchased leave options.
  • Flexible working arrangements where applicable.
  • Access to EAP, wellbeing initiatives, and Fitness Passport
  • Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander supports including Burra Burra Network, Cultural Events, and Sorry Business & Ceremonial Leave (up to 10 days).
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Rewarding, purpose driven careers that create positive and sustainable social impact.

How to apply

If you’re passionate about making a difference and ready to join a team dedicated to creating positive change, please submit your resume and cover letter detailing your alignment with the requirements of the role.

Together, we can build a brighter future.
