Job Description - Speech Therapist

Description

Paediatric Speech Pathologist | Perth WA | Family-Focused Private Practice Early intervention & school-age caseload | Full-time or part-time

Mediix Recruitment is partnering with a warm, family-focused paediatric practice in Perth looking to welcome another Speech Pathologist to their clinical team. The practice has a strong reputation among local paediatricians, GPs and schools, and offers the kind of setting where clinicians can do genuinely good work without the pressure of a corporate-scale caseload.

About the role

You'll work primarily with children from early intervention through to upper primary, with scope to take on adolescent clients depending on your interests. The referral base is broad — early language delay, ASD, DLD, articulation and phonology, fluency, AAC, and school-age literacy and social communication.

Day to day, you will:

  • Complete comprehensive paediatric assessments and formulate clinical impressions
  • Develop individualised, family-centred therapy plans grounded in current evidence
  • Deliver 1:1 sessions in clinic, with community and school visits where appropriate
  • Partner with parents and carers through coaching and home-programming
  • Liaise with paediatricians, teachers, OTs and psychologists involved in shared care
  • Complete NDIS reporting, progress reviews and clinical documentation

What our client offers

  • Above-award remuneration, negotiable on experience
  • Generous CPD allowance, paid study leave and in-house learning sessions
  • Structured clinical supervision — particularly strong support for early-career SPs, and peer collaboration for senior clinicians
  • Manageable caseload — the practice is deliberate about not overloading clinicians
  • Admin, intake and NDIS billing support so your billable time stays clinical
  • Genuine flexibility — 0.6–1.0 FTE, school-hours and compressed-week arrangements considered
  • Bright, purpose-designed therapy rooms and a well-stocked resource library
  • Warm, low-turnover team culture with regular team catch-ups and social events

About you

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology
  • Speech Pathology Australia (CPSP) eligible or certified
  • Genuine interest in working with children and their families
  • New graduates with strong paediatric placement experience are warmly encouraged to apply
  • Confident with family coaching and parent-mediated approaches
  • Strong clinical documentation and interpersonal skills
  • Current WA driver's licence and reliable vehicle
  • WWCC and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
