About the Role

Gemco is seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor, WA to join our Forrestfield team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring supply chain activities, including planning, procurement, logistics, and warehouse operations, are managed efficiently and effectively to meet operational requirements. You will oversee Gemco Rail's inventory management and replenishment processes, ensuring inventory levels are optimised to support operational demands while maintaining high levels of service and performance across the business.

 


This role will report to  National Supply Chain Manager.


 


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Engage with vendors seeking efficiencies, have regular cadence with key business partners.

  • Provide leadership and functional guidance with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Manage inventory processes, procurement, movements & financial obligations.

  • Maintain business needs for stocked inventeory items,  processing orders & expediting.

  • Assist with the development of relevant policies and procedures.

  • Participate in Supply chain projects and undertake adhoc work as required.

  • Provide relevant reporting to management as required.    

  • Ensure the transport, logistics and warehouse operations are inline with relevant business requirements and procedures.

  • Promoting and taking action to embed a high-performance team culture including a proactive approach to Safety, Quality and Customer Service.

About You

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 



  • 5+ years of experience within Logistics and Supply chain operations.

  • Strong understanding of purchasing and inventory best practices.

  • Strong numerically with analytical, planning, and organisational skills.

  • Maintains effective relationships with suppliers, customers and other internal/external stakeholders.

  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.

  • Strong ability to problem solving.

  • Experience in team leadership and people management.

  • Understanding of the WHS requirements.

  • Able to investigate issues and identify possible solutions.


 


Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences: 



  • Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment managing stock levels and demand needs.

  • Experience in Rail/Heavy manufacturing Industry

  • Previous experience with SAP.

  • Qualifications in Logisitcs or Supply Chain.
