Start date: Commencing as soon as practical

Work hours: Casual hours as needed per week

Salary: School Officer level 2 (Casual rate) $40.63 + super (School Salary Scale)

Status: Casual

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

Encourage and foster participation in swimming across all age groups and abilities.

Undertake or assist with pool and lane set-ups to meet swim program requirements.

Demonstrate and provide clear instructions to students and participants of the centre’s learn to swim and other swim programs

Ensure the safety and welfare of participants in swim lessons, programs and squads including understanding of and compliance with emergency procedures.

Submit completed swim participant documentation including attendance information.

Supervising small groups and individual students, as requested Undertake opening and closing procedures as required.

Report any workplace health and safety risks and hazards in the prescribed format, to the Aquatic Centre Coordinator.

Perform other related duties as requested including assisting in the Centre Canteen, including point of sale activities.

Support team efforts to maintain the overall appearance of the centre.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

Ability and proficiencybackground in similar positions

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Patience and adaptability to be able to work with students of varying skill levels and learning styles

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment

Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
