Your Opportunity  


 


Due to an increase in workload across major rail projects in Victoria and interstate, we are recruiting for a technical leader in the rail team who can drive exceptional project outcomes for our clients, focussing on the track and civil disciplines. The team you will join is supporting a number of city-shaping projects in Victoria including both passenger and freight, and you will also have the opportunity to support programs of work in other states around Australia. 


 


In this role you will:


 



  •  Lead Track and CSR Design Packages and manage multi-disciplinary rail design projects, including report writing, drawing submission and comment close-out.  

  • Grow the team's rail design capabilities through mentorship and supervision.  

  • Engage with clients and stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle from concept and tender stages to IFC and CPS.  

  • Actively contribute to pursuing, pricing and winning new projects. 


 


About you 


 


Essential qualifications & experience


 



  • Chartered Civil Engineer (CPEng) with RPEV 



  • Fully proficient in OpenRail and MicroStation (required) 



  • Familiarity with track, platform & CSR design standards in Victoria and across Australia. 



  • RIW Competency in Track & Civil for MTM (required), ARTC (required) and V/Line (preferred). 



  • Strong multi-disciplinary understanding, including track, civil, CSR and interfacing disciplines including drainage, formation, structures, OHW, signalling. 



  • Experience of drafting waivers/derogations/departures. 



  • Experience of leading stakeholder engagement workshops and comment close-out 



  • Experience of contributing to Safety in Design workshops and making SFAIRP arguments 


 


Desirable requirements


 



  • Professionally Registered Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) 



  • Experience in mentoring and training junior team members, including interstate personnel. 



  • Providing design management and project management support. 

  • Strong external network and experience in bidding for work, either as pursuits or tenders.

  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical workflows to non-technical users.
