Job Description - Territory Sales Manager

About the role


 


At SunRice, we’re passionate about bringing great food to tables around the world - and our Ethnic Retail channel plays a key role in that journey.


 


We’re looking for a Territory Sales Manager to take ownership of a high-potential Greater Sydney territory. In this role, you’ll work closely with a diverse customer base, building strong relationships, identifying opportunities and driving sustainable growth across your portfolio.


 


This is a hands-on, field-based role where you’ll spend your time in market - partnering with store owners and distributors, executing in-store, and ensuring our brands show up at their best. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, takes pride in their results, and wants to make a visible impact


 


 


Key responsibilities will include:



  • Managing and growing a portfolio of ethnic retail customers across Greater Sydney

  • Delivering against sales, distribution and margin targets within your territory

  • Building strong, trusted relationships with store owners, buyers and distributors

  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities to drive growth

  • Bringing SunRice brands to life through in-store execution and promotions

  • Staying close to the market - sharing insights on trends, competitors and customer needs

  • Planning and managing your territory effectively to maximise performance

  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and a healthy opportunity pipeline

  • Partnering with internal teams to deliver great outcomes for customers


 


 


About You


 


You know what it takes to succeed in a fast-moving retail environment and bring a practical, hands-on approach to your work. You build trust quickly, understand your customers’ businesses, and focus on delivering simple, effective growth.


 


You’re self-motivated and comfortable working independently, while staying connected to your broader team. With experience in the ethnic retail channel, you know how to navigate its nuances and turn insight into action.


 


 


You will bring:



  • Proven experience selling into ethnic retail stores (this is essential)

  • A strong track record in FMCG or retail sales, with strong commercial instincts

  • Experience managing a territory and achieving sales targets

  • A natural ability to build relationships and connect with diverse customer groups

  • A proactive approach, with the ability to identify and act on opportunities

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills

  • Mandarin or Cantonese language skills (beneficial, not essential)

  • Comfort working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office

  • A valid driver’s licence and readiness to be on the road
