Trade Services Coordinator

Job Description - Trade Services Coordinator

Description
We currently have an opportunity for a Trade Services Coordinator to join our Health & Education team at Royal Adelaide Hospital. In this on-site role, you will coordinate the daily delivery of critical mechanical trade services, including HVAC, medical gas and fire systems. Reporting to the Maintenance Operations Manager, you’ll lead a team of 11 internal tradespeople and help deliver safe, responsive and high-quality maintenance outcomes across a complex healthcare environment.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
  • Coordinate daily workloads, schedules and rosters for a team of internal tradespeople.
  • Oversee mechanical trade services, including HVAC, medical gas and fire systems.
  • Monitor team performance and prepare KPI, service-delivery and asset-management reports.
  • Coach and support employees while maintaining clear communication, safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with operational leaders and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve services.
The position description also identifies responsibility for maintaining work rosters, analysing reports and trends, managing costs, responding to operational issues and supporting continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

  • A relevant mechanical trade qualification, ideally in HVAC.
  • Strong scheduling, coordination and organisational capabilities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence producing accurate reports and analysing performance data.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment, or people-management experience, will be highly regarded but is not essential.

The position description identifies trade qualifications, experience managing employees in a trade-services environment and healthcare leadership experience as desirable. It also calls for intermediate computer skills, effective communication and the ability to supervise and motivate teams.

More than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients.
