Your role
This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of our Engineering Department. You'll combine practical, hands-on trade support with key administrative responsibilities, working closely with both the Chief Engineer and Assistant Engineer to help ensure the smooth operation of essential engineering services.

As part of a dedicated engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to participate in the Engineering on-call roster, providing critical support during weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. The Position
Perform routine & preventative maintenance tasks as instructed by Chief & Assistant Engineers
Provide assistance when instructed by Chief & Assistant Engineers to Engineering Trade caregivers
Perform lamp replacements on daily basis
Ensure medical gas bottles in Hospital are restocked and ensure running inventory on gas store laptop
Carry mobile phone for contact during work hours
Assist in keeping Engineering workshop & all plant rooms clean
Assist in restocking Engineering imprest stock
The ideal candidate will have sound building trades maintenance knowledge, practical experience and strong hands-on skills. You will be confident using electronic devices such as Pocket PCs for work assignments and possess the literacy skills required to read and interpret written work requests and installation documentation.
The role requires the ability to work independently while following both verbal and written instructions, and to carry out duties across a variety of environments including patient ward rooms, operating theatres and plant rooms. You will also be physically capable of walking long distances, climbing ladders and stairs, digging trenches, and assisting with lifting machinery and parts when required.
To be successful in this role, you will have completed Secondary Education and hold a current ‘A’ Class Driver’s Licence. Engineering related trade certificates and licenses will be highly regarded.
Availability to participate in the Engineering on-call roster, including weekdays, weekends and public holidays, as well as the ability to work overtime when required, is essential for this role.

We can offer you
Salary: $74,546 to $76,782 per annum, plus 12% superannuation
Casual rate: $45.12 to $46.47 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
A permanent full-time position, working 38 per week and casual positions available
