Job Description - Training Officer Schools


At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

  • Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available 

  • Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 with salary ranging from $116,981 to $129,492 + super and annual leave loading

About the role 


 


As the Training Officer Schools, you will design and deliver engaging finance training programs that strengthen financial management practices and finance systems capability across a diverse range of stakeholders. 


 


Working collaboratively with Finance teams and key stakeholders, you will identify innovative design and development opportunities maximising targeted learning solutions to improve engagement, accessibility and learning outcomes. You will also provide expert advice to support initiatives and help drive consistent, innovative, and continuously improving financial practices across the department.

You're an experienced learning and development professional who enjoys turning complex information into practical and engaging learning experiences. You thrive in collaborative environments, build strong stakeholder relationships and are passionate about developing capability that delivers innovative and meaningful organisational outcomes. 


 


You will bring: 


 



  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering training programs for diverse stakeholder groups.  

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build partnerships and improve outcomes across multiple teams.  

  • Experience developing innovative learning solutions using contemporary training methods and technologies.  

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial or technical information into clear, engaging content.  

  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.

Essential requirements of the role 


 



  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
