Job Description - Transport Coordinator

Team Global Express is seeking experienced Transport Operations Coordinators in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. This role is a hands‑on operational position, acting as the key link between Defence stakeholders, internal teams, and transport partners.

You’ll manage day‑to‑day Defence shipments, monitor performance against SLAs, ensure compliance with government and security requirements, and proactively resolve at‑risk deliveries. The role also supports reporting, audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and strategic Defence projects.

Please note this role requires candidates to hold a Baseline security clearance or be willing to obtain one.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate day‑to‑day transport operations for Defence shipments, including scheduling, tracking, and issue resolution

  • Ensure full compliance with Defence security protocols, SLAs, contractual terms, and Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs)

  • Act as the operational point of contact between Toll, Defence stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams

  • Proactively monitor and recover at‑risk shipments to minimise service failures and revenue leakage

  • Maintain accurate operational, incident, and compliance documentation and support audits as required

  • Prepare and deliver performance reporting, including KPIs, delivery metrics, and incident analysis

  • Support forecasting, resource planning, and continuous improvement through root‑cause analysis

  • Contribute to strategic Defence transport initiatives, contract delivery, and joint bids through operational input and feasibility assessment

What You'll Bring:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in transport coordination or operations

  • Exposure to Defence or government contracts (highly regarded)

  • Strong stakeholder management and operational problem‑solving skills

  • Experience with secure freight, subcontractors, and TMS platforms
