Ward Clerk
Eastern Health
Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services and have a proud history of serving a diverse community.
Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.
This statement aligns with our promise to our communities, patients, consumers and staff that we will be HEALTHIER TOGETHER. Bolder than a vision for the future, our promise calls us to action. We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.
About the role
1North is a 32 bed ward consisting of 22 Acute Care Older Person (ACOP) beds and 10 Geriatric Evaluation and Management beds. Our ward focuses on the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment in the ACOP unit under a geriatrician-led multidisciplinary team in the management of acutely unwell older and frailer adults.
The ward is part of Eastern Health and the Medicine Program. We work closely with the Emergency Department at the Angliss Hospital, and this is where the majority of our admissions come from.
As a clerk on 1 North you may be the first person that visitors or family members come into contact with, either via the phone or in person. We feel that in this role it is crucial to be kind and compassionate, and embody all that our Eastern Health values expect. This position is a job share arrangement, with the capacity to pick up extra hours in times of annual leave if desired.
1 North recognises and values the uniqueness of each patient, family and employee. We pride ourselves in providing quality care and open communication with all. All of the 1 North staff strive for a professional and compassionate team approach in providing holistic care.
