Whisked Away by Friendship- Cuppas, Chats & Cake Lovers Welcome







Do you have a warm heart and a friendly ear, and enjoy slowing down over a cuppa and a meaningful chat?







A kind and welcoming elderly gentleman in Wallsend would love the companionship of someone who can help brighten his day with a weekly or fortnightly social visit.







Formerly a pastry chef,  he’s a gentleman who enjoys baking, talking soccer, reading Westerns, and misses sharing everyday moments with someone who genuinely enjoys good conversation and connection.







This role is all about presence, kindness, and shared interests—creating moments of joy through simple friendship and genuine community connection.



















Your impact







Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of people cared for by HammondCare.







HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements



We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.







18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged  • Reference check â€¢ Volunteer Training
