Youth Engagement Coordinator

RAC Ignite is RAC’s youth membership for 15–24 year olds. We help young Western Australians build confidence, grow leadership skills, navigate key life stages and help them to have a real say in shaping a ‘Better WA’.  
 
Working with our Youth Engagement Team, you’ll coordinate experiences that support young people to be safer drivers, choose cleaner transport and thrive in their communities. 

You’ll help bring RAC Ignite programs to life by keeping plans on track and programs running smoothly. With support from the team, you’ll also get the chance to build your own skills by helping shape and improve new programs. 

About the role 

• Program coordination: Support planning and coordination of RAC Ignite initiatives, events, activations and campaigns across metro and regional WA. 

• Team administration and logistics: Coordinate bookings, venues, program logistics, and maintain team records and documentation. 

• Youth membership support: Communicate with members and help keep member data up to date. 

• Stakeholder coordination: Work with internal teams (Member communications, Health & Safety and others) to promote programs and keep them on track. 

• Health & safety: Support safe program delivery by helping prepare safety documentation. 

• Partnerships: Collaborate with program partners including youth and community organisations, training providers, local government and others. 

• Continuous improvement: Share ideas and feedback to improve programs. 

• Reporting: Support report preparation and expense processing (quotes, purchase orders, invoices and reconciliation) as needed. 

About you 

• Demonstrated experience coordinating programs and events, with strong attention to detail and follow-through. 

• Experience or interest in working with young people. 

• Ability to work autonomously with high energy and initiative, and able to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

• A friendly, confident and reliable team player who enjoys collaborating and helping others. 

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to write and speak in a way that connects with young people and stakeholders. 

• Confident building relationships with a mix of partners (local government, community organisations, agencies) and internal teams.

• A growth mindset, open to feedback and looking for better ways to do things. 

• Comfortable using Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) and keen to learn new systems. 

• Qualifications or experience in either youth engagement, community development, education, project coordination or a related field (desirable).
