Job Description

The Australian Financial Review is opening applications for internships based in Sydney. This is an opportunity for aspiring reporters to build experience in a busy newsroom, alongside award-winning journalists and editors.

Each internship will run for up to 4 weeks, on a part-time or full-time basis. They will be scheduled some time over the coming year, by arrangement with the successful candidate. You will be expected to pitch story ideas, write articles and conduct research under the supervision of the AFR team.

To be successful, you will be passionate about contributing to The Australian Financial Review and excited about a career in journalism.


You must have strong writing and interpersonal skills, a keen interest in news and current affairs, and a curiosity about business, the economy, people and issues.
