Job Description - Chemical Engineering Internship

Host Company:

This host company is a fully owned and operated Australian chemical company, utilising the latest local and overseas technology. They serve various industries from the manufacturing, textile, food, automotive and hospitality sectors as well as supplying direct products to consumers Australia wide.

Their team comprises of experienced sales people, qualified chemists and service technicians that assist with:

Inventory control

Microbiological sampling of critical areas within Health Care, Hospitality and Food Processing establishments

Monitoring of product concentrations in customers soak tanks, baths and dosing systems

Product modifications to cater for the specific needs of major customers

The supply, installation and maintenance of the appropriate dosing equipment by an experienced Service Technician

The compiling and introduction of training programmes for customer personnel

Total Quality Management system based on ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015

Tasks:

Machine operation: Processing of product in accordance with the production schedule and SOP for product manufacture
Advising the Supervisor when maintenance is required or reporting a fault

Manufacture and packaging of potential and existing products

Operate and maintain small batch production equipment; weigh, measure and check raw materials

Ensure that manufactured batches contain the proper ingredients and quantities

Maintain records

Clean production areas to comply with regulatory requirements, good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures

In-process testing to make sure that batches meet product specifications

Planning, scheduling, and coordinating the final approval of products the production cycle including re-worked product

Coordinates production plans with Operations Manager

Coordinates with all departments

Assist in R & D duties as required
