Job Description

Confession: we think part-time work should actually fit around your life.

Not “part-time, but somehow available all the time.”

Not “flexible… as long as you work the days we want.”

Actually flexible.

We’re looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join Ability Action Australia in North Tasmania, working part-time hours that make sense for you.

Maybe you’re looking for better balance. Maybe you want to keep doing work that matters without work taking over everything else. Or maybe three or four days a week simply suits your life beautifully.

Whatever the reason, we’d love to talk.

What will you actually be doing?

You’ll work alongside people with disability, their families and support networks to create meaningful, practical change.

Your days might include:

  • Developing and delivering evidence-based Behaviour Support Plans
  • Creating meaningful goals and practical strategies using a Positive Behaviour Support framework
  • Working towards the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices
  • Building the skills and confidence of families, carers, friends and other important people in a participant’s life
  • Advocating for the people you support and helping their voices be heard
  • Collaborating with a genuinely multidisciplinary allied health team

In short: good clinical work, meaningful relationships and outcomes that actually matter.

A little about you

You’ll have:

  • A degree qualification in an allied health discipline such as Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Social Work
  • Experience developing, implementing and reviewing Behaviour Support Plans
  • Proficient, Advanced or Specialist status as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • A genuine passion for working within the disability sector

And ideally, you’re someone who likes having autonomy while still knowing there’s a great team behind you.

And what do you get?

Because if you’re spending your working week supporting other people, we should be supporting you too.

Flexibility that means something

Choose the hours and days that work for you.

A great remuneration package

Generous base salary + car allowance + phone + laptop + salary packaging, including novated leasing.

Work where it makes sense

A mix of working from home, our office/clinic and out in the community.

Room to grow

Professional development and career opportunities across Ability Action Australia and the broader MedHealth group.

People you’ll actually enjoy working with

A warm, purpose-driven team that takes the work seriously — without needing to take ourselves seriously every minute of the day.

Sound like your kind of role?

Then I’d genuinely love to hear from you.
