Job Description - Payroll Officer for a Transport Company in Australia (Home Based Part Time)

• Process end-to-end weekly payroll, including collecting, calculating, entering, and cross-checking payroll data for all employees.

• Process new hires, terminations, and employee changes in the payroll system.

• Complete employee onboarding checklists in Sage and UKG, ensuring contract terms are implemented and processed correctly across all systems.

• Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and other earnings to ensure timely and accurate payments.

• Update and maintain payroll records for employee contract variations, wage changes, and benefit information.

• Complete all pre- and post-payroll checks each week before payment processing, including bank files and supporting documentation.

• Use pre-payroll checklists to identify errors or discrepancies and liaise with managers or staff to implement any required corrections.
