The impact you’ll make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

What you’ll do

• Drives new mechanical developments in concept and feasibility state referring to fundamental new approaches for future applications with special focus on heating technologies.
• Involves problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration with other specialists to bring ideas from concept to reality.
• Prepares high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, evaluation, and validation to a diverse audience in design reviews.
• Collaborates with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions can be manufactured with high-quality, cost-optimized, and to requirements.
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers.
• Accountable that system meets all engineering requirements regarding Compliance and Safety Standards.

Who we’re looking for

• University master degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in the semiconductor industry
• Experience with CAD, Inventor or NX (or similar CAD software) is beneficial
• Technical knowledge of mechanical design and simulations/calculations is beneficial
• Strong analyzing skills and numerical ability
• Good oral and written communication skills in English
• MS Office knowledge

What We're Offering

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in the occupation group F. A higher payment is negotiable depending on education, expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
