Accountant

Job Introduction

In Europe, we work closely with our customers to deliver custom-made and specialized services across International Organizations, Space, Immigration, and Defence. We provide tailored services for various public sector bodies including European Institutions, the Belgian and German Defence, the European Space Agency, and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Our expertise spans IT services, Facility Management, Space Research, and Operations.

We’re looking for an Accountant to reinforce the team in our Brussels office.

Responsibilities

• Follow-up of purchase invoices in collaboration with Accenture


• Management of Purchase Orders (PO) / Goods Receipts (GR)


• Encoding of sales invoices


• Management of Intercompany Operations (ICOs)


• Management of bank statements and payments


• Payroll file management and reconciliation


• Preparation and submission of VAT returns


• Preparation of VAT listing and 281.50 tax forms


• Support for statutory accounts and audits


• Balance Sheet reconciliation


• Profit & Loss review


• Responsible for monthly closing


• Participation in year-end closing


• Support on ICT

Successful Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.


• Few years' experiences in a similar function for an international company.


• BEGAAP knowledge, IFRS exposure is a plus.


• SAP experience is a plus


• Fluent in French or Dutch, English (must)


• Essential technical and professional skills and knowledge


• Demonstrate high cognitive ability


• Proven track record in building positive relationships


• Identifies ways to improve the accounting processes and implement. Continually seeks improved and more efficient methods of working


• A high degree of integrity, personal self-discipline, and a strong work ethics with a flexible approach to the job, being prepared to challenge the norms and capable of using own initiative


• Delivery focused - ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities Essential experiences


• Will have operated as an accountant in an international business of an appropriate size and complexity


• Ability to analyze business processes and propose improvements


• Strong PC skills, agile in Excel


• Evidence of experience in working in a changing environment


• Can work in a structured and methodical manner, deadline driven
