Your role
As an Assistant Breeder (Specialist), you are an important member of the spinach breeding team. You support the development and improvement of spinach varieties and ensure that everything related to data and trials is well-organized.
Around 60% of your time will be focused on data: collecting, structuring, preparing, and analyzing.
The remaining time is spent on fieldwork, evaluating trials, and occasional travel.
You will be working in a team where colleagues support each other and step in where needed. This means you will have a broad role, with a lot of variation and overlap in responsibilities.
What will you do?
Collect, structure, and analyze data from trials and experiments
Prepare and support breeding activities
Ensure accurate administration and data processing in the breeding database
Manage and execute the increase of elite stock seeds
Collaborate with colleagues within and outside the team
Support the planning and coordination of trials and breeding activities
Share insights based on data and discuss results with sales and production
What do you bring?
Bachelor-level working and thinking (HBO level), preferably with a degree in Applied Biology
Strong administrative and analytical skills
Accuracy and a structured way of working
Open and clear communication
You enjoy having a broad role and can easily switch between different tasks
A team player who is willing to pick up work from others when needed
Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong plus
