Intro

RELYzIT Talent is seeking an elite Azure Cloud Engineer (Freelance) to join our client’s central Cloud Platforms team in Antwerp, Belgium. What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, implementing, and managing robust cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, primarily with Terraform.


• Building, automating, and supporting Azure platform services to ensure reliability and scalability.


• Developing reusable platform components, automation solutions, and reference architectures for seamless adoption across teams.


• Supporting the onboarding of application and workload teams onto the cloud platform, acting as a trusted advisor and technical partner.


• Managing and optimizing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments for high availability and performance.


• Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, secure, and consistent deployments.


• Managing GitHub repositories, branching strategies, and deployment workflows to streamline collaboration and code delivery.


• Implementing cloud security controls and governance standards to ensure compliance and protect sensitive data.


• Collaborating closely with architects, development teams, data teams, and external partners to drive platform excellence.


• Creating and maintaining clear technical documentation and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, or DevOps Engineer in enterprise environments.


• Proven expertise with Microsoft Azure, including platform services and automation.


• Extensive knowledge and practical experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.


• Strong experience with Kubernetes, ideally Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).


• Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts: VNETs, Private Endpoints, DNS, Load Balancers, NSGs, Firewalls.


• Experience managing GitHub repositories and CI/CD environments for streamlined DevOps workflows.


• Demonstrated knowledge of cloud security, identity management, and monitoring in regulated settings.


• Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams and with external partners.


• Fluent English communication skills; Dutch is a plus.


• Willingness to work approximately 2 days per week onsite in Zwijnaarde (hybrid model).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of AWS cloud services


• Experience in highly regulated sectors (e.g., finance, healthcare, government)


• Certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, Terraform Associate, or CKA


• Background in platform engineering or internal cloud services environments

Language Proficiency

• Fluent English required


• Dutch language skills are a plus
