Business Architect

Job Description - Business Architect

Description

Your role as a Business Architect

  • As a Business Architect, you combine strategic thinking with strong analytical and stakeholder management capabilities to shape and guide transformation initiatives end-to-end.

  • You translate business strategy into clear capabilities, processes, and operating models, creating high-level conceptual models and blueprints that enable structured decision-making. You bring a strong end-to-end perspective across domains and understand how business units, customer journeys, and processes connect to deliver value.

  • You define and connect capability maps, process landscapes, and governance structures, ensuring alignment across the organization without necessarily going into deep operational detail. You take a structured, analytical approach to complex challenges—building fact-based recommendations, developing scenarios, and assessing impacts across capabilities and processes.

  • As capabilities consist of processes, people and technology, you build strong relationships with our Architecture Steering team as well as our People Steering team to obtain one shared business capability framework that supports our business leaders in their strategic questions.

  • As a trusted stakeholder partner, you align senior leaders, challenge constructively, and translate complex topics into clear narratives and visuals. Acting as a bridge between business, IT, and operations, you facilitate collaboration and enable effective decision-making across domains.

  • You establish frameworks, guardrails, and governance structures that ensure consistency, reuse, and long-term sustainability. You actively collaborate with process owners, architects, and transformation leads, coaching teams towards a more structured way of working.

Our ideal candidate

  • You bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Business Process Management, or leading transformation initiatives.

  • You combine a strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into capabilities, processes, and operating models.

  • You have proven experience working in complex, agile environments with multiple stakeholders and large-scale transformation programs.

  • You possess excellent communication and influencing skills, enabling you to engage effectively with both executive and technical audiences.

  • You have strong knowledge of enterprise architecture and business process frameworks, including TOGAF, APQC, eTOM, and BPMN.

  • You understand how customer journeys, business processes, capabilities, organizational structures, and IT landscapes are interconnected.

  • You are able to perform impact assessments, define actionable transformation initiatives, and drive enterprise-wide change through a collaborative mindset.
