Job Title: Cost Management Analyst and Accountant

About the Role
Under the supervision of the General Accounting Manager, you will operate within the Cost Management team, under the GBS Record To Report General Accounting Center of Excellence EMEA. In this role you ensure accurate accounting for, and reporting of, all intercompany movements in BD's European distribution entities. This role also ensures that price purchase controls are applied in compliance with the company’s compliance regime.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  Deep dive into analyzing purchase price variance (PPV) trends and share insightful metrics in review meetings

  
  


• 
  

  Supervise monthly reconciliations between inventory management and SAP financial accounting system; collaborate with the team to investigate variances and operational specifics

  
  


• 
  

  Support local controllers with transfer pricing methodology and documentation requirements for tax authorities across Europe and the US

  
  


• 
  

  Establish and maintain partnerships for team support and ensure timely execution of SOX controls

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate standard cost updates for the annual budget with Plant Controllers

  
  


• 
  

  Handle daily standard cost updates and transfer pricing rules in systems; work closely with external and internal auditors

  
  


• 
  

  Share standard methodologies and new findings to cultivate growth and improve the expertise of others

  
  


• 
  

  Act as a key contributor in a sophisticated and changing environment

  Ensure integrity and compliance with business processes; advocate for ethical behavior

  
  

About You

• 
  

  Proven experience in finance or cost management roles, preferably in a multinational environment

  
  


• 
  

  Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze trends in purchase price variances (PPV) and metrics

  
  


• 
  

  Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in SAP financial accounting systems and inventory management systems is a plus

  
  


• 
  

  Compliance: Understand the meaning of compliance and become familiar with SOX and internal controls, ensuring strong purchase price controls

  Coordination: Ability to coordinate and handle multiple tasks efficiently, including the annual cost enrollment process

  Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address sophisticated challenges and operational specifics
