Our Economic Advisory practice delivers strategic, economic and regulatory insights to both public and private sector clients, supporting decision-making across complex and evolving industries. Within this, our Transport team advises clients across transport, logistics, and mobility ecosystems, combining economic expertise with strategic insight.

The Opportunity: Your Next Adventure Awaits?
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Director in Economic Advisory with a strong background in the transport and logistics sectors (e.g. rail, aviation).

In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of high-impact advisory services for corporates, infrastructure players, and public authorities, combining economic analysis with strategic insight.

You will operate across a broad mix of engagements, ranging from commercial and strategic advisory to regulatory and policy-driven projects, including work for European institutions and other public bodies. Your ability to navigate both market-facing and policy-driven environments will be key to your success.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex advisory engagements across transport and logistics, including:
  
  
  
  • economic and regulatory analysis
  
  
  • market and commercial strategy
  
  
  • business case development and cost-benefit assessments
  
  
  • operational and value chain optimisation
  
  
  
  


• Drive business development across corporate clients, infrastructure operators, and public sector entities (including EU institutions), shaping opportunities and leading proposals


• Leverage your understanding of European regulatory and policy frameworks to support client strategies and advise on market developments


• Build and maintain senior client relationships across industry and public stakeholders, positioning EY-Parthenon as a trusted advisor


• Oversee delivery of high-quality outputs, ensuring methodological robustness and clear, actionable insights


• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across geographies


• Contribute to thought leadership on transport policy, regulation, and market trends in Europe

Your Profile

You have:

• Extensive professional experience (typically 10+ years) in economic regulation, strategy consulting, competition economics, and EU law related to network industries, transport or logistics.


• Proven track record in leading client engagements and business development, ideally in a consulting environment.


• Experience working with corporate clients and/or public sector stakeholders, with exposure to European institutions, regulatory environments, or EU policy frameworks considered a strong asset


• Strong expertise in areas such as: transport economics and regulation; logistics and supply chain strategy; infrastructure and mobility systems or market analysis and commercial strategy.


• Deep understanding of aviation policy (including ATM, safety, capacity, environment), Single European Sky performance, and charging schemes is considered an asset.


• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills


• Fluency in English. Working proficiency in Dutch and/or French is a plus.


• Ability to operate effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines across diverse teams and geographies.
