THE ROLE
We are looking to for a consultant to join Flint’s expanding European financial services team. At a time of significant political and policy change, successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to support the continuing development of Flint’s business in this area and work on an exciting array of complex policy and regulatory issues for our clients. This will involve working closely with senior team members across Flint to advise clients on public policy, politics, regulation, and commercial strategy with a specific focus on EU financial services. Flint’s clients want to understand, in detail, how they can build a long-term strategy to thrive in an evolving policy environment. Our clients include asset managers and private equity, banks, insurers, pension funds, fintechs, technology companies, blockchain infrastructure and other financial institutions as well as alternatives, portfolio companies and corporates.
The financial services team works across Flint’s Brussels and our offices in London, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and Hong-Kong/Singapore. In this Brussels-based role, you will focus both on our growing portfolio of EU clients and will have opportunities to work with our UK and international colleagues.
As part of the Flint team, you will research and analyse complex policy challenges, to enable your clients to deliver the best possible outcomes. Working closely with senior leaders and experts from across the company, you will help to develop strategies and approaches to address these challenges, backing up recommendations with wider strategic and political analysis.
Flint provides an excellent professional and educational environment for people to accelerate their personal and career development. There will be space to engage in discussion and debates on substantive policy and political challenges, as well as significant scope for rapid progression through the company for high-performers.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working for, or closely with, EU institutions or financial services authorities at either Member State or EU level, as well as those with in-house experience with financial institutions. As a general guideline, our consultants typically have 2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
While this role will focus on financial services issues, there will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be willing to work across other policy areas. Candidates should feel free to outline any experience in other policy areas in their application, but this is not a requirement.
