Group ESG/Sustainability Specialist

As Group ESG/Sustainability Specialist, you help translate our Lotus Bakeries sustainability ambitions into concrete actions. You are the project lead of initiatives that fit within our Road to Net Zero and our Sustainable Sourcing. You will work closely with the international teams across the organization to drive progress on sustainability metrics.

Reporting to the Group Director ESG, your responsibilities include:

• Contribute to Lotus Bakeries’ decarbonization roadmap by mapping suppliers based on emissions and climate maturity and engage with them to drive progress on our carbon reduction.
  


• Manage Lotus Bakeries’ ESG ratings such as EcoVadis and improve our ratings through structured analyses, gap assessments and recommendations on how to move forward.


• Act as the ESG expert to develop and maintain an LLM sustainability knowledge hub. This hub will allow our teams to be on top of customer and stakeholder questions, by providing accurate responses, training materials and up-to-date documentation.

• Develop an approach to be compliant with upcoming sustainability legislations such as CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive) and roll-out this approach in the organisation. Monitor the robust implementation by collecting documentation, performing desk research and maintaining an audit-ready supplier scorecard.

To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have: 

• Master's degree


• Minimum 2 years of professional experience. Sustainability is a plus.


• Fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch is a strong asset.


• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex ESG topics into practical actions and recommendations.


• Well-organized and structured, with solid project management skills and the ability to drive initiatives forward.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing and engaging colleagues and external partners.


• Proactive, hands-on and eager to take ownership in a dynamic international environment.
