About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Java Developer with deep SPFx expertise for a high-impact, freelance assignment. You’ll architect and implement a Project Document Landing Zone within SharePoint Online, driving digital transformation in water technology. This is a 2-month freelance engagement based in Belgium, designed for those who thrive on building solutions that matter.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and developing custom SharePoint Framework (SPFx) webparts and extensions for a robust project documentation environment


• Implementing advanced document management solutions within SharePoint Online


• Configuring and optimizing SharePoint sites, libraries, and lists for maximum usability and performance


• Integrating SharePoint with Microsoft 365 services and external systems


• Ensuring security best practices and governance guidelines are embedded in every solution


• Documenting technical architecture and solution designs for transparency and scalability


• Supporting deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of SharePoint solutions

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with SharePoint Online development


• Proven expertise in SPFx (webparts, extensions, library components), including version 1.16 or higher


• Experience with Adaptive Card Extensions (ACE) development


• Strong background in Java (Java 21+), Spring Boot, and backend integration


• Advanced skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Office UI Fabric/Fluent UI


• Experience with Node.js, npm, Visual Studio Code, and SharePoint development tools


• Proficiency with Git version control and branching strategies


• Experience with Microsoft Authentication Library and containers (Docker desktop is a plus)


• Familiarity with Azure stack is an advantage


• Ability to document and communicate technical solutions clearly


• Commitment to reading and adhering to project policies (GDPR, Integrity, Delegation Decision)
