About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in healthcare, is seeking a Mobile Software Developer to drive the next phase of their mobile strategy. As a key member of a dynamic IT team, you’ll architect and deliver intuitive, high-performance Android applications that empower thousands of hospital staff. What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, developing, and maintaining native Android applications in Kotlin, leveraging the Android Jetpack ecosystem.


• Translating functional requirements into technically sophisticated, future-proof mobile solutions.


• Collaborating on app architecture (MVVM, Clean Architecture), security, and UX/UI best practices.


• Integrating mobile apps with complex backend systems and utilizing Firebase for monitoring, analytics, and messaging.


• Staying ahead of mobile trends and proactively preparing for potential expansion to iOS or cross-platform frameworks.


• Taking end-to-end ownership of projects, from analysis and development to release and user guidance.


• Contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement within a team of 30+ developers.

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.


• Expertise in Android development, with a passion for the broader mobile landscape.


• Ownership mindset: you thrive on solving complex problems and delivering impactful solutions.


• Flexibility and curiosity to expand into iOS (Swift) or cross-platform (Flutter, React Native, KMP) as needed.


• Willingness to learn and engage with backend environments (PeopleSoft tools, SQL Server).


• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Technical Skills

• Android SDK (Expert)


• Kotlin, including Coroutines & Flow (Expert)


• Jetpack Compose for modern UI (Expert or strong interest)


• App architecture: MVVM, Clean Architecture, Dependency Injection (e.g., Koin)


• Firebase services: Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Firestore


• Networking: REST APIs (Retrofit, OkHttp, Ktor client is a plus), local data storage (Room)

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

Other Requirements

• Partial remote work is possible.


• Freelance contract for 5 months, based in Vlaams-Brabant, Belgium.


• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.
