Senior Developer (Freelance) - 7 Months - Brussels Belgium

RELYzIT Talent is seeking a Senior Developer (Freelance) for a 7-month project in Brussels, Belgium. As a Senior Developer, you will be instrumental in maintaining, optimizing, and advancing Oracle/APEX-based solutions that underpin essential operations such as catering, cleaning, and furniture management. Your work will ensure seamless business continuity, enable digital transformation, and support the migration of critical applications to the cloud. The stakes are high: your contributions will directly influence operational excellence and the future-readiness of the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintain and optimize existing Oracle/APEX applications, including BOS and DOS platforms.


• Lead the further development of the BOS catering application, delivering new features and enhancements.


• Drive the development of new functionalities for the BOS furniture application.


• Ensure the ongoing maintenance and stability of the APEX platform.


• Participate in projects to establish and optimize data flows to and from APEX applications.


• Advance ACM integration across BOS applications, ensuring seamless interoperability.


• Document existing data flows and technical processes for transparency and future scalability.


• Collaborate with key users to define and refine functional requirements.


• Support the migration of APEX applications to AWS cloud infrastructure.


• Coach and lead development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Technical Skills & Experience

• More than 5 years of demonstrable experience in developing Oracle/APEX applications (Senior level).


• Demonstrable experience in web-based application development.


• Thorough knowledge of recent versions of Oracle APEX.


• Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and at least one additional programming language/environment such as .NET (C#), Java/J2EE, or PHP, including frameworks.


• Experience with web services: REST, SOAP, JSON.


• Demonstrable knowledge of Facility Management processes (catering, cleaning, furniture management, etc.).


• Experience with Agile development methodologies, with the ability to take a leading role.


• Demonstrable education with certification or equivalent experience in relevant programming languages and environments.


• Higher education (Master or Bachelor) in a technical/engineering or business economics field, or equivalent through experience.


• Experience using code versioning tools (e.g., Subversion), testing and code profiling tools, and issue management tools (e.g., Jira) is a plus.


• Experience performing technical analyses and object-oriented analysis & design/UML is an advantage.

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is mandatory.

• Freelance position: 7-month contract, based in Brussels, Belgium.
