Intro
RELYzIT Talent is seeking a Senior ICT Solution Architect for a high-impact, freelance assignment with our client in Brussels. This is a unique opportunity to architect the future of digital government platforms, shaping the backbone of a federated, modular ecosystem that will transform permitting and advisory processes across multiple policy domains. Join a mission-driven team where your expertise will directly influence the efficiency, predictability, and legal robustness of public sector digital services.
Why This Role Matters
As a Senior ICT Solution Architect, you will be instrumental in translating a visionary concept into a tangible, future-proof architecture for OmgevingOS—a modular, federated platform designed to streamline and modernize the permitting and advisory chain. Your work will enable seamless integration between existing systems, foster data-driven decision-making, and lay the foundation for a solution-focused ecosystem that empowers both government and citizens. The stakes are high: your architecture will drive efficiency, legal certainty, and innovation across a complex landscape involving 15 policy entities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Designing and developing the solution architecture for OmgevingOS, ensuring alignment with the functional vision and business objectives.
Creating integration models, API strategies, and data exchange frameworks to enable interoperability across diverse systems.
Defining cloud and platform architectures, evaluating trade-offs between Azure, AWS, and on-premise solutions.
Translating complex requirements into actionable technical scenarios and phased roadmaps.
Conducting impact and risk analyses to inform solution scenarios within intricate application landscapes.
Leading the development of migration, modernization, and transition architectures for legacy and new systems.
Applying advanced modeling techniques (Archimate, TOGAF, UML, Sparx EA) to document and communicate architectural decisions.
Collaborating with business analysts, enterprise architects, service designers, and strategists to define project scopes, governance, and knowledge-sharing frameworks.
Contributing to the sourcing and procurement plan, and defining project management aspects such as costs, timing, coordination, and planning.
Championing a shift-left approach—moving from remedial action to proactive guidance in the permitting process.

Specialist architect expertise in at least one domain: networking, security, server infrastructure, application architecture, ERP, ECM platforms, Data warehouse, BI, or as an Enterprise Architect (Senior level).
