Software Asset Management – IT License Management – Service ASP

Mission Description

Our client is looking for a Software Asset Management professional to strengthen its IT license management activities within the ASP service. The role combines administrative, analytical and case-management responsibilities, providing cross-functional support to the IT, Procurement and Finance teams.

The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of the client's software portfolio, with a strong focus on license compliance, cost optimization, data quality and process improvement.

Service Description

The mission is to ensure the reliable, compliant and optimized management of the IT software portfolio, from the initial software request through to the retirement of the software.

The role covers the management of the full license lifecycle, inventory and data quality, renewal tracking, contract analysis and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

The position also contributes to cost control, software license compliance and the continuous improvement of Software Asset Management processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of IT licenses, including requests, approvals, acquisition, deployment, monitoring and renewals.


• Maintain an accurate, reliable and up-to-date database of active, expired, renewable and retiring licenses.


• Analyze software contracts, terms of use and license clauses in collaboration with Procurement, IT and Finance teams.


• Analyze software usage data to identify unused, underutilized or oversized licenses and recommend optimization opportunities.


• Establish and monitor key performance indicators, including active licenses, unused licenses, upcoming renewals, compliance risks and potential cost savings.


• Prepare analyses, reports and dashboards to support management decision-making.


• Develop a good understanding of software licensing models from major software vendors, as well as SAM/ITAM solutions and analytical tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL and/or Power BI.


• Contribute to the continuous improvement and optimization of Software Asset Management processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT license management, IT procurement, IT Asset Management or a similar function.


• Good knowledge of software licensing models and license management practices.


• Experience working with SAM/ITAM tools and analytical tools such as Excel, SQL and/or Power BI.


• Strong administrative and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.


• Ability to work independently, proactively and with a strong sense of ownership.


• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.


• Ability to collaborate effectively with IT, Procurement, Finance and external software vendors.


• Fluent French or Dutch and fluent English.
