About the Opportunity
As an Area Director, you will be responsible and accountable for the overall profitability and return on investment of a specific geographical portfolio. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager of Latin America. You will ensure the successful execution of business priorities and operational excellence across your assigned market.
You will be the primary owner of the member experience within your portfolio, ensuring we meet our global standards, member satisfaction targets, and retention goals while driving regional synergy.
Strategy, Finance, Operations & Sales:

• P&L Ownership: Full accountability for the financial performance of up to 15 premium buildings within your designated geographic area.
• Financial Strategy: Create and execute revenue-generating and cost-saving initiatives based on building P&Ls while monitoring OpEx.
• Regional Collaboration: Work closely with other Area Directors in the region to share best practices and standardize operations across Latin America.
• Asset Management: Implement strategies to improve ROI, mitigate risk, and enhance cash flow (EBITDA).
• Sales & Growth: Partner with the Sales team to achieve revenue targets and personally engage with key enterprise member organizations.
• Real Estate & Marketing: Collaborate with Real Estate counterparts to manage landlord relationships and act as a local spokesperson for your market.
• Cross-Functional Synergy: Partner seamlessly with matrixed organizational functions—including Finance, Legal, IT, HR, and Product—to achieve unified regional objectives.

Member Satisfaction & People Leadership:

• Managing Through Others: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Community Managers, empowering them to run their buildings while you focus on high-level strategy and portfolio health.
• Experience Excellence: Drive the highest levels of member satisfaction (NPS) and employee engagement (eNPS) across your entire area.
• Escalation Management: Serve as the final point of resolution for complex member or operational escalations requiring market-level support.
• Standards & Efficiency: Ensure the portfolio adheres to WeWork’s global operating standards while optimizing local efficiencies.
• End-to-End Team Ownership: Cultivate a cultural mindset of radical ownership and performance accountability across all building teams, aligning individual execution with macro business goals.

About You

• Experience: 7+ years in real estate, hospitality, or multi-unit retail, with a heavy focus on operations and P&L management.
• Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the local [Mexican / Brazilian] real estate market, business culture, and labor regulations.
• Leadership: 5+ years of experience leading sizable teams, with a proven track record of managing other managers and developing talent.
• Education: BA / BS or equivalent in Finance, Real Estate, or Hospitality. An MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required (reporting line is regional). Proficiency in Spanish/Portuguese is a significant plus for regional integration.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in cash flow modeling, financial analysis, and complex commercial negotiations.
• Mobility: Must be open to travel 30% of the time within your assigned geographical area.
