Accountabilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance software systems using Java 8 and Spring Boot, following established development best practices.
- Contribute to the development of a new technology platform for a major client in the insurance sector.
- Build and integrate APIs and backend services to support reliable and scalable application functionality.
- Monitor the health, stability, and performance of services, identifying potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Investigate technical problems and contribute to solutions that improve application reliability and overall system performance.
- Collaborate with other developers and project stakeholders in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
- Participate in continuous technical improvement, adopting good engineering practices and contributing ideas for innovation.
- Support agile development practices and maintain effective collaboration throughout the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Professional experience developing software with Java 8 and Spring Boot.
- Practical understanding of backend programming concepts and experience working with APIs and web services.
- Experience or familiarity with Python, including backend frameworks such as Flask or Django.
- Ability to understand, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot backend systems and services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to application health, performance, and reliability.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with a highly technical development team.
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and interest in exploring new technologies and development approaches.
- Familiarity with React is a plus, particularly for candidates interested in contributing across the stack.
- Knowledge of Git, Web APIs, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and AWS is desirable.
- Experience with agile methodologies is an advantage.
- Good communication skills and a results-oriented approach to software development.
