Role Summary

Serving as a designated designer to 3-4 clients at any given time, our Multimedia Designers are the lifeblood of our creative team, working closely with clients to expand the creative vision set by the Design Manager into living, breathing, and remarkably distinct visual assets that grow and evolve as our clients’ businesses do. Much of your time will be spent producing content at a high level of polish, staying aware of industry and platform trends, and design best practices.

As a Multimedia Designer at Notable you will be responsible for design and production of a variety of client deliverables, often on a recurring (monthly) basis. This workload will be supplemented by occasional ad hoc design assignments that often serve as challenges and learning opportunities. A Multimedia Designer looks after the needs of 3-4 clients at a given time and is well versed in those clients’ brand identity and voice. 

Given the nature of our firm, you will be working with clients over extended periods of time, developing close rapport with their teams, gaining a strong understanding of their industries, and experiencing the gratification of watching your creative ideas compound from a small set of design guidelines to a large library of social assets, email campaigns, decks, and other creative assets that, together, function as a system that creates recognition for our clients and their brands.

In your role, you will report to and work alongside the Design Manager, who will provide guidance and define style sheets for each client’s recurring deliverables, as well as ensure brand guideline adherence. You will work together to maintain a cohesive visual language across a client’s media channels and look for opportunities to grow and strengthen the brand.

While no single ingredient ensures success, there are a few hard skills that are required to excel in this role.

THE HARD SKILL SET

At Notable, we believe that visuals speak for more than any certification or degree can, which is why we don’t require them at any level of our organization. Above all else, we hire based on experience and portfolio. Strength and breadth of portfolio and the pieces exhibited within should resemble the work which you will be doing on a daily basis, or demonstrates an aptitude or transferable skills for it.

• 4+ Years’ Experience
  Minimum of 4 years of previous experience in a design role. In addition to a strong and diverse portfolio, we need designers who have watched different forms of media and their formats (social, email, etc.) evolve over time.

• Portfolio with B2B Work
  Strong design portfolio that includes B2B design work and demonstrates the ability to design for both short (social assets) and long-form (text-heavy pieces such as guides, presentations, marketing collateral) content.

• Software Skills
  Proficiency in industry-standard design software including but not limited to:

• Adobe Illustrator
  

• Adobe Photoshop
  

• Figma or an alternative UI/UX tool
  

• At least one email marketing platform (e.g. MailChimp, Hubspot, Constant Contact, etc.)
  

• At least one no/low-code website builder (e.g. Squarespace, EditorX, Wix, etc.)
  

• Communication Skills
  Strong written and spoken communication skills in English.

  You notice the small details, and how each small piece operates and affects the larger design system to which it belongs. Consistency is an important aspect of your design practice. You notice when a thicker stroke is applied to one icon in a set of twelve, and the 1 pixel-thin white line at the bottom of an asset you have just exported is a cause for a quick edit before delivery.

Compensation

BASE SALARY OR HOURLY RATE

This is a part-time position with an hourly wage of $15 per hour for roughly 15 hours per week. Payments will take place on a bi-weekly basis via direct deposit, and exact payment amounts will be based upon actual hours worked as reflected in the detailed Time Sheets that you will be required to submit at the end of each week. 

TAXES & WITHHOLDING

In this role, your work will be performed in a Contractor capacity, wherein you will be required to withhold your own state, local, federal, and any other applicable taxes. Upon joining, you will be required to complete several forms including our Professional Services Contract and Nondisclosure Agreement, as well as a Form W8-BEN to ensure proper reporting for taxation purposes with both the IRS and your regional and/or national tax authority.

BONUSES

Entrepreneurialism is a core value of our company. A staple of entrepreneurialism is reward in exchange for effort, which is why we believe in aligning our compensation models and incentives to the efforts made by employees in order to improve the top line growth of our firm. To that end, we offer generous commissions of up to 10% of total Project Fees or 50% of a client's first month’s Retainer Fees for identifying new prospective clients and referring them into the firm.
