Job Description:

Position summary

• Lead and grow a high-performing test engineering team responsible for delivering robust, scalable, and compliant verification and validation across products and releases.

• Define and execute test strategy across manual, automated, system, and integration testing while partnering closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Release teams to ensure product safety, performance, and time-to-market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of test engineers — set objectives, run reviews, and support career growth.

• Create and maintain a comprehensive test strategy and roadmap aligned to product and business goals.

• Design, implement, and improve automated test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and test environments.

• Oversee system, integration, regression, performance, and reliability testing activities.

• Establish and track test metrics (coverage, defects, cycle time) and report quality status to stakeholders.

• Drive test process improvements and best practices (test design, CI integration, test data management).

• Collaborate with product owners and engineering to define testable requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Ensure testing activities meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (if applicable).

• Coordinate release validation, risk assessments, and post-release defect analysis.

• Manage resource planning, vendor/contractor relationships, and test tool procurement as needed.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 7+ years of hands-on test engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role.

• Proven experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD.

• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and defect management.

• Experience with common test tools and languages (examples: Selenium, Appium, JUnit/TestNG, pytest, C#, Java, Python — adapt to team tech stack).

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence engineering and product stakeholders.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in regulated industries (medical devices, pharma, healthcare) and familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, 21 CFR part 820) where applicable.

• Experience with cloud-based test environments, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).

• Background in performance, reliability, and security testing.

• Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Certified ScrumMaster, AWS/GCP certifications).

• Test automation: Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent

• Programming/scripting: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#

• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps

• Test management: TestRail, Jira, Zephyr, or equivalent

• Version control: Git

• Cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP
