POSITION SCOPE:

The Director of Culture and Community Programming is responsible for the vision, leadership,

and overall direction of Culture and Community Programming within the Culture and

Community Programming Department, ensuring programming and services align with the

Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Comprehensive Community Plan and Atikameksheng

Anishnawbek cultural practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• University Degree (e.g., Bachelor of Arts) in Health, Social Work, Indigenous Studies, or a


• related field;


• Five (5) years’ experience working with an Indigenous organization with responsibility


• for managing programs, services, and finances.


• Five (5) years’ experience in project management and/or program planning,


• implementation, and evaluation.


• Experience writing proposals, policies/procedures, and reports;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide overall leadership and direction for Culture and Community Programming to


• ensure culturally grounded, community-informed services and activities.


• Lead community engagement and consultation (including with Debendaagziwaad and


• community knowledge holders) to identify cultural and community programming needs


• and priorities.


• Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of cultural, community, land[1]based, and language-support programming, ensuring alignment with organizational


• priorities and community plans.


• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for Culture and Community


• Programming, setting priorities and ensuring alignment with Atikameksheng


• Anishnawbek plans, cultural practices, and organizational goals.
