ROLE
The Clinical Education and Preceptor Coordinator leads the design, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the IHLP Clinical Education and Preceptorship Program. The role develops standardized learning resources, training programs, competency-based tools, clinical scenarios, and the educational materials to support consistent, high-quality clinical education across the IHLP region.
A key responsibility is supporting site-based preceptors and laboratory teams by identifying learner needs, developing educational strategies and resources, providing guidance, and promoting consistency in student education and competency development across participating laboratories. The Coordinator also provides targeted educational support to MLT students and contributes to initiatives that support recruitment, retention, and regional workforce development.
The Coordinator also supports the administration and monitoring of the MLPAO-funded Clinical Preceptor Pilot Program, including coordinating project activities, tracking outcomes and metrics, maintaining required documentation, evaluating program effectiveness, and supporting reporting requirements. The role works collaboratively with IHLP leadership, participating sites, educational institutions, preceptors, and MLPAO to ensure program milestones, deliverables, and workforce development objectives are achieved.
