Agro Purchasing Clerk - Temporary

Lakeland Co-op is currently seeking a Full-Time AGRO CENTRE PURCHASING CLERK for our Agro Centre at 6020-54 Avenue, Bonnyville, Alberta. This is a 12 month Maternity Leave Coverage.

What you’ll do:

We are looking for an Agro Centre Purchasing Clerk who is eager to be a part of a great retail team, enthusiastic about representing and promoting our products and services, and has the skills and desire to provide outstanding customer service. The Purchasing Clerk is a valued Team Member who works under minimal to medium supervision dependent on level of experience. They are a key area of our business as they are expected to perform and be responsible for receiving, counting and verifying inventory levels throughout the Agro Centre while developing positive relationships with suppliers to replenish low stock levels where required. Team Members are expected to possess the following competencies in order to perform up-to-standard in a Purchasing Clerk role:

Our Agro Centre Purchasing Clerk will: 

• Establish great rapport with customers and provide exemplary service in all capacities
• To order customer product requests and merchandise items through the FCL Warehouse and affiliated distributors. 
• Utilize a high attention to detail in maintaining and developing the Agro Centre environment
• Manage inventory control, product merchandising, order receiving, department organization, and a variety of other tasks as assigned 
• Perform stock counts and track inventory levels.
• Prepare and package products for shipment to customers or other facilities.
• Verify the contents of outgoing shipments against orders or shipping documents
• Inspect incoming shipments for damage, accuracy, and completeness.
• Verify the quantity and quality of received goods according to purchase orders or invoices.
• Label and store incoming goods in the appropriate locations in the warehouse.
• Efficiently and accurately record all transactions on the POS (Point of Sale) system
• Represent Lakeland Co-op in a professional and positive manner

Who you are: 

We are seeking candidates with the following preferred qualifications:

• Experience working in a retail setting with an understanding of basic retail concepts  
• Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal and customer services skills
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
• Honest and trustworthy, strong work ethic, and striving to be the best at what you do
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• The ability to lift 25+ pounds and to stand for long periods of time

• Ability to work a variety of shifts including and weekends as needed
