A propos de la Division Intégration des Modèles & Moteurs de Simulation :

La division MSEI regroupe les différentes équipes jouant un rôle clef dans le développement des modèles et logiciels spécialisés temps-réel au cœur des solutions d’OPAL-RT. La division développe et maintient des produits servant à la modélisation et simulation temps-réel haute performance des systèmes électriques et d’électronique de puissance. L’équipe compte parmi ses membres non seulement des experts en modélisation et simulation temps-réel, mais également des programmeurs de métier dédiés à l’amélioration de notre cadre logiciel de modélisation, d’intégration des modèles, et des différents solveurs. Un autre rôle de la division consiste à faire évoluer nos différents logiciels, afin d’intégrer les dernières technologies de pointes; tant au niveau des modèles, des méthodes de résolutions d’équation que des différents compilateurs de nos systèmes CPU/FGPA. 

Fonctions principales: 

Étudier, développer et tester des concepts et techniques tels que : 

• Topologie de convertisseurs. 

• Méthode de résolution des circuits électriques. 

• Méthode de découplage des systèmes d’états. 

• Optimisation et amélioration de solveurs dont la division est responsable.  

• Offrir du mentorat pour assurer l’évolution des différents membres de l’équipe sur les méthodes de résolution numériques. 

• Proposer des solutions innovantes pour la résolution numérique des circuits électriques.  

Exigences:

• Scolarité: Maîtrise ou Doctorat en génie électrique, génie logiciel ou mathématiques. 


• Expérience: Minimum 4 ans d’expérience dans la simulation de systèmes dynamiques et modèles électriques : stabilité des systèmes non-linéaire , solveur numérique,électronique de puissance, modélisation sur FPGA ou systèmes embarquées .


• Connaissances requises : Solides compétences en dynamique et transitoires des systèmes physiques et électriques. Bonne maîtrise des méthodes numériques pour la résolution d’équations différentielles, des méthodes d’optimisation et de l’arithmétique numérique (point fixe et flottant). Compréhension des compromis entre précision et performance, en fonction des contraintes de calcul et des limites physiques des modèles. Capacité à proposer des solutions créatives et efficaces pour répondre aux exigences de simulation temps réel de systèmes complexes et intensifs en calcul. Aptitudes en vulgarisation et en synthèse, permettant d’expliquer clairement les méthodes et algorithmes employés, développés ou adaptés.


• Compétences informatiques:
  Une maîtrise de 3 des 4 compétences suivantes : MATLAB/Simulink C/C++ ; Xilinx/Vitis , Python.


• Compétences linguistiques : Français obligatoire. Une bonne connaissance de l'anglais est nécessaire pour la lecture d'ouvrages spécialisés/scientifiques non disponibles en français et pour l'utilisation de logiciels spécialisés qui n'existent qu'en anglais.

About the Model & Simulation Engine Integration Division :

The Model & Simulation Engine Integration (MSEI) Division brings together the teams that play a key role in the development of the specialized real-time models and software at the core of OPAL-RT's solutions. The division develops and maintains products used for high-performance real-time modeling and simulation of electrical and power electronic systems. 

The team includes not only experts in real-time modeling and simulation, but also professional software developers dedicated to improving our modeling framework, model integration environment, and numerical solvers. Another important mission of the division is to continuously evolve our software ecosystem by integrating state-of-the-art technologies in modeling, numerical solution methods, and compiler technologies for CPU and FPGA-based systems. 

Main Responsibilities :

Study, develop, and test concepts and techniques such as: 

• Power converter topologies. 

• Electrical circuit solution methods. 

• State-space decoupling techniques. 

• Optimize and improve the numerical solvers under the responsibility of the division. 

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to support the growth of team members in numerical solution methods. 

• Propose innovative approaches for the numerical solution of electrical circuits. 

Requirements: 

• Education: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. 


• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in the simulation of dynamic systems and electrical models, including expertise in several of the following areas: nonlinear system stability , numerical solvers,Power electronics, FPGA-based or embedded-system modeling.


• Required knowledge : Strong knowledge of the dynamics and transient behavior of physical and electrical systems. Solid understanding of numerical methods for solving differential equations, optimization techniques, and numerical arithmetic (fixed-point and floating-point). Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly explain the methods and algorithms being used, developed, or adapted. Ability to understand and balance the trade-offs between simulation accuracy and computational performance while considering real-time constraints and the physical limitations of the models. Capable of proposing innovative and efficient solutions to address the challenges of real-time simulation of complex, computationally intensive systems.


• Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least three of the following technologies: MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++ , Xilinx Vitis , Python.


• Language abilities:  French required. Good English skills are required for reading specialized/scientific books not available in French and the use of specialized software that exists only in English.
