Automotive Mechanic

• Inspect and
  test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  
• Adjust,
  repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
  
• Repair or
  replace mechanical units or components
  
• Test and
  adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
  
• Perform
  scheduled maintenance service
  
• Test and
  adjust units to specifications
  
• Advise
  customers on work performed and future repair requirements
  
• Complete
  reports to record problems and work performed
  
• Coach and
  instruct apprentices
  
• Provide
  customer service
  

Requirements

• No degree,
  certificate, or diploma required.
  
• Must have a
  minimum of 5 years or more of experience as Automotive Mechanic.
  
• Must have area of
  specialization in engine repair and diesel engines
  
• Must have diesel
  engine repair specialization and major internal engine repairs or overhaul.
  
• Must have a criminal
  record check and driving record check (abstract).
  
• Must have own
  transportation and a valid driver's licence.
  
• Must be willing to
  work in a fast-paced environment, with hand-eye co-ordination, attention to
  detail, manual dexterity, and standing for extended periods.
  
• Must have own tools
  and steel-toed safety boots.
  
• Must have accuracy,
  client focus, dependability, excellent oral communication, excellent written
  communication, judgement, reliability, and be a team player.
  
• Must have an
  Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification
  
• Must be
  able to communicate in English.
  
• Must be
  willing to work onsite.
